These Beautiful Dogs Went From Abused Bait Puppies To Amazing Pit Bulls – And Never Left Each Other’s Side.
These Beautiful Dogs Went From Abused Bait Puppies To Amazing Pit Bulls – And Never Left Each Other’s Side.
When Odin and Rorschach were picked up by the southwest Phoenix animal rescue organization HALO, there were only 4-month old puppies but the wounds found all over their body showed a lifetime of pain and torment. The two pups had scratches, deep cuts, missing skin and open wounds on their shoulders, legs, heads and ears, all signs that pointed to the animals being used a bait in the dog fighting world. Wounds were so heinous that one of the pups needed even needed drainage tubes.
Thanks to HALO, these young puppies were slowly back on the mend and featured on a local news program, which caught the eye of Mary Davis, who, along with her husband and children, were able to adopt one of the pups and named him Odin. Later that weekend the family attended a pet event and stopped by a HALO booth to ask about the other puppy in hopes that he too found his forever home. That’s when the family found out that even though he was up for adoption, no one had come forward to take him home.
Immediately the family knew they had to act and literally jumped into the family van and drove straight to the HALO headquarters to pick the little guy up! Although the dogs were most likely bait dogs and looked at as prey for other dogs, both pups are now living with the Davis family’s two other dogs, Jazz, a 12-year-old Lab, and Johnny, a 4-year-old rescue who is deaf, in perfect harmony.
Even though their scars are still visible, the two dogs are now happy and, rightfully so, spoiled rotten! Judging by the pictures below, it looks as though they are living the life that they always deserved.
